Therapy has to be monitored tightly when using both trazodone and amitriptyline as they both are central nervous system depressants. Perceived side effects should be promptly reported to your prescriber.

Medication should be managed by your Psychiatrist. It's a good idea to have a complete physical exam to know if you have a physical illness that is causing symptoms. You could be helped by a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in multiple types of psychotherapy. If you are not confident with your Psychiatrist please see another for a second opinion.
