Can i take 150 mg elavil (amitriptyline) for depression and 25 mg. of trazadone to help me sleep. elavil (amitriptyline) alone doesn't help me fall asleep?

Yes: While Elavil (amitriptyline) can be good for sleep, sometimes people need more as a sleep aid. Trazodone 25 mg is a very low dose, and if it helps with your sleep, there is no problem taking it together with your elavil (amitriptyline).
