Epidiolex or cannabidiol was approved few years ago for use in children with refractory seizures in Dravet syn and the initial studies seem to be encouraging as far as decreasing significantly seizure events. Your nephew’s seizures will be best addressed at a tertiary center specializing in refractory seizure disorder in children with the help of a pediatric neurologist.

Dravet Syndrome is well known to not respond well to the usual anti-epileptic drugs, and it would be best to get a second opinion. Cannabinoids do seem to help rather dramatically in some. An experienced pediatric neurologist would be ideal.

Your nephew's seizures may require another type of ant seizure medication. Triggers such fever, should be controlled. A flu vaccination is usually indicated. Please see your physician to discuss and/ or another Pediatric Neurologist.
