I gave mouth to mouth cpr without a mask. i had a sore in my mouth at the time. i just reacted and did what i thought was necessary. how much at risk am i for catching hep c or hiv? i'm extremely stressed by this. i saw no blood on the persons mouth?

In theory it may happen if the victim is positive for hep C or HIV but in reality, the chance of infection is almost nil, you do not need to worry. You are a great samaritan.

Viral hepatitis, HIV and herpes simplex among.other infections like TB can all be transmitted by that route. Only chest compressions, and no mouth to mouth CPR, is now recommended out in the field. Try to get a health history on that person if at all possible. I recommend that you call your public health department for advice & instructions. They may assist you in obtaining that health history.
