A member asked:

I have a thyroid nodule that's 2.7cm that is affecting my lymph node in my neck. i've had many biopsies done, all benign. doc said that they can remove part of the thyroid. is this really necessary? don't they try thyroid meds first?

There are no medications for a benign thyroid nodule. Given the tests you have gone though, watching and waiting may be a prudent thing to do.

Lymph notes are not usually affected by thyroid meds. Discuss with your Dr or go to thyroid clinic at UC Davis is my advice.
