SGPT (ALT) of 51 is mildly elevated but one number does not mean anything and it could be a lab variation. Yes, antibiotic can raise GPT slightly. Drinking alcohol or tylenol the night before can easily affect liver enzymes, especially the GPT (ALT).

The mild elevation in your transaminase (GPT) is likely due to the condition being treated with antibiotics or drugs in general ( possibly antibiotic or others used for fever for example). Your treating doc remains best as placing lab findings in clinical context.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your level is only minimally elevated and you could watch and wait. Avoid alcohol and acetaminophen. Wish you good health!
