If you were examined by an ophthalmologist it is good that they found no problems with your retina and optic nerve. If not, I recommend seeing an ophthalmologist (M.D or D.O.) ASAP to rule out retinal problems. Changes in the vitreous can cause flashing and floaters without damaging the retina. Visual migraine can be another cause of flashing for short period of time, 5-30 minutes.
