YES!!!: Head trauma such as what you have described can result in retinal detachment. This can occur from a simple fall. I have seen retinal detachments in young soccer (football in UK) player after a blow to the head. Also common in boxing. The other aspect of this is that you need to know why you fainted as well as what other injuries are present. In the US, we call this a syncope work up. Go ASAP
