If she has been treated since she was a child, there is a high likelihood that she has been treated with multiple antibiotics. The Dr that has been treating her has her history, her responses and her test results. This person is the one who should be managing her care. If they prescribed Augmentin, that is a very good medication for Strep infections.

Streptococcus could be in the body without causing infection. The reason she may be on antibiotics may not be because of the streptococcus but to reduce the chances of reoccurence of rheumatic disease because she is prone. She does not need to be on amoxicillin with clavulinic acid for that purpose, maybe she is on it for different reason that you may want to verify from her doctor.
