A member asked:

Do angiotensin receptor blockers make you pee more or cause dehydration? do you need to drink more water or electrolytes while using them? are they safe for athletes? thanks?

Typically excellent and effective antihypertensives, but they may cause increased coughing. There is no effect on urination, and no promotion of dehydration. As an "athlete", you should hydrate sufficiently, and monitor your perspiration in hot ambient surroundings.

NO and no. If taking for BP ask about giving the DASH eating plan a 2-4 week trial.
