High intensity exercise will not be recommended, rather gradual until your anemia is properly worked up and treated. Once your anemia is resolved you can definitely returned to high intensity exercise.

Has the cause of "severe" anemia been diagnosed? It is imperative that the cause be treated. You may exercise as tolerated, however, high intensity exercise is not advisable till you recover your normal hemoglobin without transfusions.
