No: There is an acute form of hemolysis which can occur if you receive mismatched blood but transfusions are not the cause of autoimmune hemolytic anemia.

Immune?: You probably mean immune hemolytic anemia, which is a result of mismatch between antigens present on surface of red cells. It can be acute, which can be life threatening or chronic or delayed, which usually causes anemia and jaundice.
