A member asked:

I was diagnosed with sjrogrens. i also have a history of low white blood count despite iron transfusions with anemia. is this related to why its low?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe not: Iron transfusions will not have as much effect on white blood cells as red blood cells-hemaglobin.If the white blood cells have always been low then that is normal for you. Some races such as africian americans tend to run a lower WBC count. So discuss with your doctor this but sounds at least for the WBC not too much to worry about since always been low.
