Was just diagnosed with small intestine neuroendocrine tumor that is malignant. oncologist surgeon says treatment is open surgery with 2 to 3 weeks in hospital. he does robotics but did not first offer it. how many robot surgeries shows experience?

You should discuss this option with your surgeon. If he feels uncomfortably with a minimal invasive approach, you can seek a second opinion. However, I do not think you need to stay in the hospital more than one week with the open approach. The surgeon who has an advanced training (fellowship) in laparoscopic surgery usually does a better job.
