Flaxseeds, walnuts, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and soybeans are considered the best alternative sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which is the nutrient you seek that is available in fish oil. Omega-3 fatty acids such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), or linoleic acid are present in other vegetable oils and even lard and butter but in much lower concentrations.
