A member asked:

Can dry eyes cause severe pain in eyes? went to opthamologist and thats what i was diagnosed with. next step is to dilate the tear ducts. will that help. all started with i started office job with bright lights and constant computer use?

You did experience eye strain which may have contributed to your eye problems. Tear duct dilation helps.blockage of tear drainage but unless you're experiencing associated inflammation of the eyes along with dry eyes, it may not help. Treatment of dry eyes.is rather complex.and there are ophthalmologists who specialize in this. I'd be inclined to follow your ophthalmologist's advice though.
