The uterus in question is a little larger than average which is approximately 9x5x4cm. The fibroids are likely making it a bit larger, though the dimensions given are not very concerning. The symptoms, however, warrant treatment. Please discuss treatment options with your gynecologist.

At age "39", the ovaries are being stimulated with pituitary hormones at a higher level, resulting in more estrogen production, stimulating existing "fibroids". Ask your GYN physician about low dose oral bcp's, which stop the ovarian source of estrogen, and will slow the growth of the fibroids as well as a reduction in size. Lupron and surgery are other options.
