A member asked:

My latest cardiac mri said 'the interatrial septum is mildly aneurysmal and bulging to the right'. what does this mean doctor, and how is this treated? thank you?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

As per the description, if the atrial septum is "bulging to the right", it could relate to mitral valve stenosis, which would increase the left atrial ejection pressure, and cause mild aneurysmal "bulging". See a cardiologist , who may order a cardiac ECHO to determine the cause.
