A member asked:

Can a diabetic reach the sweet smelling urine symptom without experiencing the other symptoms like increased hunger and thirst, increased urination, weight loss, fatigue, and infections?

Yes. You can begin to spill glucose into the urine at a blood sugar level of 170 and above. Major symptoms like those cited may not appear until you reach twice that number or more.

Urine does smell sweet in Diabetics when there is sugar and acetone present and occurs mostly in uncontrolled diabetics and can rarely occur without the other symptoms.

If you have any concern about being diabetic get you fasting plasma glucose tested. You may also get A1c tested as well. Symptoms are not a reliable way to make diagnosis in early stage. https://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/basics/getting-tested.html#:~:text=The%20A1C%20test%20measures%20your,higher%20indicates%20you%20have%20diabetes.
