UTI: Uti symptoms include frequency, urgency and pain. You can have the same symptoms with diabetes but the urine would not show an infection and may have glucose in it.

Infection First: After your infection is cleared up you might find those symptoms are gone too. If the remain, talk to the doctor about it and take it from there.
