A member asked:

What is the best way to identify that you had a facial paralysis cause by an injection that cause a delayed facial nerve block. rather than a neuropathic episode cause by your own body. can an mri or cat scan determine the origin from which was cause?

Not fully clear what did occur or what kind of injection you received. If you suffered Bell's palsy, this may occur following vaccines, rarely. Imaging may reveal nerve swelling or inflammation, but unless the nerve is compressed, there may not be specific information of underlying causation. More comprehensive evaluation can be found via a virtual consult (www.connect@healthtap.com)
