Is it normal to not be able to find a cause of chronic neuropathic pain? had mri's, ct, ultrasound, x-ray, blood tests & seen pain consultant

Not abnormal: It is not abnormal, as even with all the technology we have in the field of medicine, we can not always find a definitive cause for a persons pain, in your case neuropathy. I assume diabetes, a post herpetic neuralgia case, nerve impingement syndromes, lymes disease, ricketsial infections, etc were all ruled out. See a neurologist if you have not already. Best wishes.
