A member asked:

My platelet count came back normal at 165 but my mpv is high at 13.9. what could this mean for me, especially with my white blood cell count at 4? i also have a 44 l hdl?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, these may be your normal, unless there has been marked change from earlier results. You can improve your HDL through regular aerobic exercise. Wish you good health!
