Chronic cough needs : To be evaluated by his pediatrician to determine the cause. It can be anything from mild asthma (reactive airway disease), being exposed to 2nd- or 3rd-hand smoke, gastroesophageal reflux, allergies, an aspirated peanut or popcorn seed...& the list goes on. Tell your pediatrician the duration & timing of his cough, family history & environmental exposures when you take your son in for a check-up.
