A member asked:

What are the most common conditions a premature (6 month) baby is born with? are heart defects common and if so is it relevant to tell the cardiologist as an adult with no know hd that one was born premature when being evaluated for lightheadedness?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The common heart issues for a premature at that level are easily detected/monitored and fixed by mid childhood if they don't resolve naturally. The more worrisome ones effect the brain and motor development. (Cerebral palsy). I can't see any kid making it to adulthood that has a neonatal problem that would explain such a vague symptom.
