4 yr old daughter issues w urinating & frequent urges.we went to urologist & been waiting 4 a week 4results.the dr is out 4 a wk but on her notes his recommended noteswere: detrusor external sphincter dyssynergia.we r nervous& any insight would help?

Detrusor-external sphincter dyssynergia is a serious condition and I doubt if your daughter has this and I assume she is healthy otherwise. I wonder if her urologist did a thorough evaluation before coming to this impression. Most cases with same symptoms in children around your daughter's age are behavior disturbances and voiding behavior modification is effective. A second opinion may be needed.

Someone in the office who is subbing for your Urologist should be able to answer your questions. This diagnosis is made after doing special studies. Your daughter should be seen by a pediatric Urologist.
