A member asked:

I'm 8 months pregnant (34.3 weeks) and ultrasound says that my baby didn't turn down yet, his head is close to my ribs. will my baby still have time to turn? if not, is it possible to deliver through vaginal birth?

The last month of pregnancy is a time of great growth and movement for babies. they gain almost 2 pounds and move frequently. it is most likely that your baby will move into head down position within this time. Your OB Dr will monitor you every two weeks then every week during this period to make sure everything is progressing normally.

Ask your obstetricians (who know you, your obs. history, your prenatal record, your fetal presentation, estimated fetal weight etc..) about their "policy" on vaginal breech delivery versus Cesarean delivery for breech in order to make an informed decision. A materno-fetal-medicine doctor who has expertise in "external version" from breech presentation to cephalic presentation may also help you.
