A member asked:

5 year old had an mri due to a one time focal seizure in february. only shaking. tiny focal area of increased flair signal w/anterolateral right frontal white matter which is nonspecific however may reflect minimal gliosis... what does that mean?

I would certainly have this scan, and the 5 year old evaluated by a reputable Pediatric Neurologist. Good health to you all.

Certainly confer with the radiologist who interpreted the images. Gliosis would be the equivalent of an area of prior damage, but unclear if this is the source or cause of the seizure activity. Yes, a pediatric neurologist would be crucial for future management.
