A member asked:

I suffer from pretty bad anxiety. recently i began to have some headaches and head pressure. i would like to go a neurologist and get a brain scan or mri to make sure im ok. would the neurologist do that for me or just dismiss it as anxiety?

No doctor of any sort should dismiss symptoms out of hand as anxiety, but you are seeing the doctor for their expertise. If after an evaluation they agree with you that specific tests are indicated then they will order them, but it is not reasonable for you to expect them to simply rubber stamp your request.

See a neurologist. He would not order unnecessary tests. Good Luck
