I am 27. how likely is it that i have colon cancer or something serious? occasionally i see bright red in stool, not wiping. my stool is often inconsistent where it can go from a normal bowel movement to pebbles and varies in terms of frequency?

A Baltimore Oriole baseball player developed colon cancer at age 28 & is now back playing. Nevertheless I regard colon cancer a rarity at your age Hemorrhoids or anal fissure are more likely causes of bright red blood on stool. Inflammatory bowel disease, proctitis, polyps are other possibilities. A simple.office sigmoidoscopy by a gastroenterologist or colorectal surgeon would set your mind at ease

Your chances of colon cancer are very low. This is more likely from constipation and hemorrhoids. It is best to see your MD for it. In the meantime add fiber and roughage to your diet, drink water and try Psyllium. Good luck.
