A member asked:

I have had what i thought was a bug bite for months now. it is about a centimeter long and only hurts if i scratch at it. originally, it was the color of my skin, but now it is turning light brown. my mom says it's a mole, but i'm worried. dr or no?

A bug bite is unlikely to persist for months. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Having your primary care doc doc taking a look at the mole should only help with both management and peace of mind. If related or not to a bug bite in the past might be hard to determine, you have now a skin lesion that has to be assessed/ diagnosed properly.

In FLORDIA you have a lot of sun, so it could be a possible skin pre cancerous lesion or a mole. Best see a dermatologist for a biopsy if indicated.
