Xarelto is a direct anticoagulant so it has the side effect of exacerbating the bleeding process. You won't bleed from your gut if you do not have any gut lesion. Give example, if you have a bleeding duodenal ulcer or a hemorrhoid bleeding, Xarelto will make the bleeding heavier. In general, the risk of bleeding is low compared with the benefits with using anticoagulant so that's why we use it.
