Question unclear: Can post a new, clearer question. Most people get a headache at some time, such as from colds, infections, lack of sleep, too much driving, long hours on the computer, stress at work, etc... A bad or increasing headache, persistent or recurrent headache, weird headache, or one that has other troubling symptoms should be evaluated by one's doctor.

Is it you or a friend? You write, "into MY neck." You have to give information on whether the "muffled hearing" is all the time or just when the pain comes and whether it's one ear or both, and if it's one ear, is the ear on the same side as the pain.
