Only if necessary: The only lump that i would remove in pregnancy is a cancer. For one thing, it is best to avoid anesthesia during pregnancy. Also, disrupting the milk-producing glands can lead to chronic drainage of milk from the incision (a milk fistula). The best option is to establish the diagnosis with a core biopsy; if benign and excision is desirable, one can wait till after pregnancy.
