See answer: You should really ask your doctors office on the proper care. Sometimes you can use diluted peroxide solution with gauze to clean the wound. If you are infected, i hope you are on an antibiotic.

EZ does it.: When absorbable sutures dissolve, they do so as you describe. However, if there is true pus with increasing redness, swelling, pain and warmth with a worsening wound, then infection is likely. If not, then gentle cleansing with soap and water daily and applying an antibiotic ointment to the incision daily will help. If it looks worse, get back to the doc for their evaluation.
