There is no definite co-relation. Dipsticks are often falsely positive if contaminated with oxidizing contaminants and heavy bacterial contamination. The best test is a microscopic exam.

I agree with Dr. Tandan. A 2+ blood by dipstick does not confirm true hematuria, i.e. confirmed microscopically, because dipstick is a chemical test and it could be positive with several conditions which does not have true hematuria. However, if that result is truly from hematuria, there are at least 100 RBCs/hpf by my personal experience when examining the urine myself.
