For patiensts with ckd on blood pressure is it the systolic or diastolic that is considered to be the more important number? my cardiologist says from his perspective the systolic is the more important number. but my diastolic may go high?

For some years we have considered the systolic pressure to be more significant with respect to complications affecting other organs such as heart& brain white matter and more of a cause of strokes according to studies. However this doesn't mean we can ignore diastolic hypertension as there is some evidence that diastolic hypertension may exert more damage to kidneys.
