My cardiologist told me i have a weak heart . does this mean that i have heart failure. i am a 31 yr. old male who's had high blood pressure most of my life ?

It does not necessarily mean you have heart failure. You would need to ask your cardiologist if you have heart failure or not. Your cardiologist knows you best and he/she will be able to tell you if you have heart failure. Keep your blood pressure under control. Good luck to you!

A weak heart to me means that your ventricular pumping function is diminished which is the forerunner of congestive heart failure. This isn't inevitable if appropriate measures are taken which may include addition of ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers, diuretics,low salt diet,achieving ideal weight as well as control of BP. I'm sure your cardiologist will be more specific re your case
