Human glands make daily steroids as part of their natural stress response. Depending on the type of therapy steroid, method of use (inhaled, IV, injected, oral) and dose administered (small, large), it may or may not have any influence on the immune system. Injected/IV or oral steroids go everywhere in the body & have the greatest overall risk of complications. Inhaled forms have much less effect
