If it is a fungal laryngitis the condition can be treated and your voice will return. Upper airway fungal infection is a side effect of steroid inhaler. This condition is a little bit different from the viral laryngitis you have had in the past which is self limited and resolving completely without treatment.

Avoid smoke exposure and voice strain while ill. If you are still using the inhaled steroid, rinse mouth after use. The spots are probably related to thrush. A honey based lozenge or in honey in tea is often effective in reducing the symptoms of viral laryngitis. Watch for signs of fever and cough.
