Assuming that the "1.5 cm nodule" is a breast nodule, a wire located needle biopsy under fluoroscopy is the recommended procedure, and is done as an outpatient, under local anesthesia, allowing consciousness and the ability to drive, but it is advised for patients to bring a family member or friend to drive secondary to usual anxiety associated with this kind of surgery.

Usually a fine needle aspiration is a minor procedure. You may get slight discomfort, while the procedure is being performed, but it is very tolerable. Since it is done under local anesthesia, there is no risk for cognitive impairment, however, each practice has their own policies regarding letting patients drive after a procedure. Ask your provider about it.

It is possible to have a needle biopsy without sedation, in which case you may be allowed to drive. However, if you received sedation or anesthesia you will not be permitted to drive for some time afterward.
