A member asked:

Pbs study: rbc series shows mild anisocytosis with predominance of microcytic hypochromic cells. occasional target cells seen. wbc sweries shows normal study. platelets are adequate on smear. no haemoparasites seen. sir, can you explain this result?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if your hemoglobin and WBC count are normal, there is no concern. Wish you good health!
