My dad is 64 and during his colonoscopy surgeon did a total excise of one tubular adenoma. pathology said it was a high grade dysplasia. doctor suggested a follow up colonoscopy after 6 months. is he cancer and should we worry now? is 6 months ok?

Not cancer. Your dad should follow his doctor's advice for follow-up examinations.

It is fortunate for your dad. It is a precancerous polyp which was totally removed so your dad should be fine. Repeated colonoscopy in 6 months is more than enough.
