A member asked:

Stool testing shows enterobacter cloacae overabundance and claims this is dysbiotic - is this something to be concerned about? if so, what is the typical treatment for this? a naturopath told me to take grapefruit seed extract, but i'm skeptical?

This is a bacteria commonly found in the digestive tract. It is of little importance to anyone with a normal immune system. An overabundance of the germ can reflect poor gut germ balance & simple use of probiotics (benign germ colonies) can re-balance the system.

Why was the stool cultured? Do you have any symptoms? If you do not have any symptoms do not be concerned about treating a lab test. Leaving it alone may be the best course. Probiotics may worsen the matter. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs
