A member asked:

6 yrs old stool culture shows staphylococcus aureus.earlier diarhea & fever for 8 dys but now no diar or fever & seems better.is treatment needed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Staph aureus is likely just a skin contaminant that was either on the surface of the stool or introduces during collection/processing. It is not considered a stool pathogen. It sounds like the kid had a viral diarrhea that has resolved.
