Trichomonas is usually diagnosed by a "wet smear" under a microscope. Ciprofloxin or other quinolone antibiotics do not treat trichomonas, and a repeat urine culture/sensitivity is needed to determine an appropriate antibiotic for a "persistent UTI".

It will not affect the test. But the 'stubborn' UTI should be investigated before you go on a long term use of an antibiotic. Dont forget to drink water and empty your bladder when you getb the urge. Good luck
