A member asked:

Hello doctor (s), can rls affects both limbs or just one ?? whether the tingling symptom can be felt during daytime in mild intensity? how to differentiate between peripheral neuropathy & rls? what's that major difference between these two ? thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

RLS generally affects both legs. Peri. Neuro. is a disease affecting peripheral nerves and generally of both (upper and lower) limbs. Cause of RLS is not known. The best way to differentiate is by a neurologic exam.
