A member asked:

Hello doctor, what are the major differences between rls and neuropathy ? what can be that one or two things that can tell what exactly one is suffering from? can neuropathy happen in both legs?please help and clarify, thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Polyneuropathy describes symmetrical bilateral numbness, tingling, perhaps weakness in legs. Mononeuropathy affects one nerve at a time. RLS describes a movement disorder and is not in neuropathy category, but the two can co-exist. If you have confusion regarding your symptoms, schedule a virtual consult on the paid portion of HT.
