A member asked:

Hi doctors. i have an appointment for a transperineal prostate biopsy for the first week in april. my friends have a trip scheduled for that week. could i postpone the biopsy appointment, or is there a concern that if there is cancer, it may spread?

Only your urologist who knows all your clinical findings can give you the best advice about postponing the biopsy. That being said, most prostate biopsies are not treated as a very urgent test as most prostate cancer develops and grows over a number or years.

A few weeks delay of biopsy will not make any difference. Have a good trip.
