Eliminate caffeine and nicotine from your diet as these aggravate reflux. Never lay down for at least an hour after eating a meal, snack or drinking fluids. Keep a food diary to select and remove any foods/snacks that may be followed by increased reflux.

Lifestyle changes remain critical and difficult to implement in treating GERD, losing weight for example when and if applicable, but are the only long lasting measures in providing results. Would suggest caution in adjusting your meds by yourself, GERD not responding to therapy is to be further investigated and the addition of a gastroenterologist to your medical team may provide better direction
